My name is Christina Leow. I was born and raised in the sunny island of Singapore. As Singapore is such a tiny country, I probably travelled (in my mom's arms) every accessible inch of the country many times over by the time I reached the grand old age of 1 year old. =D When I was 7, my dad brought the whole family overseas to our neighbouring country, Malaysia, for the first time. This short trip opened up my eyes to a whole new world out there, and so I caught the incurable travelling bug. Since then, I have never stopped nor looked back at my life before travelling. This might resonate with people who enjoy travelling... I love the feeling of travelling that final stretch of road to the airport cos to me, it means another exciting adventure has begun.
With each journey and advancement in information technology, I gain more confidence and gradually progressed from group tours to independent travelling since 2001. I believe each trip is not just about sightseeing in a country but it is also about the journey of getting there. The planning, research, bookings/ reservations, writing the itinerary, and even packing too... things like these, which lead up to the finale, make the journey even more exciting. =) On top of that, sharing the journey with a great travelling partner, in my case, my hubby, makes it unforgettable and precious. I know I will always have someone to watch my back and vice versa.
My hubby once said to me when we were on a flight home from our holiday and I asked him when and where our next holiday would be, "I think... you are addicted to travelling!". Haha I was a bit indignant by that remark as it hit the mark. I mean I kind of know but I never had anyone saying it out loud that I have an addiction. On hindsight, that statement could not be more true. I am, indeed! =D
One of my favourite things to do while travelling is taking photographs, and you can say these photographs are among my most treasured life possessions. Though the camera can never fully capture the beauty of the scenery compared with seeing it with our own eyes, I do try my best to take photos based on what my eyes see as beautiful. All photos in this website are taken with my various point-and-shoot cameras, and unedited. What you see is what you get... no Photoshop! =) I am happy to say that one of my photos was selected for publication on National Geographic YourShot "Unexpected Discoveries" assignment, 'Unexpected Discoveries' Story and Pictures -- National Geographic Your Shot. It is also the Editor's Choice for the April 2015 issue of National Geographic Geographic magazine. =)
I hope my travel blog will be able to convince you, visually, where and why you should go to one of these destinations on your next holiday. =) Happy browsing! |
